We can never truly repay our veterans for the sacrifices they made for us. They stood in the gap to protect us from those who would do harm to our country and our Commonwealth.
As a Commonwealth, the least we can do for them is to make their transition to civilian life as easy as possible. Republicans were proud to support House Bill 2551 from Del. Thomas, which requires the Department of Motor Vehicles to recognize and accept the skills many veterans bring from their service when applying for a Commercial Driver’s License. Men and women who can operate heavy equipment safely in a war zone deserve credit for that when applying to operate heavy equipment on our roads.
