Several New Taxes Take Effect in VA on July 1

This year the General Assembly passed numerous taxes that will go into effect on July 1. Some will be felt immediately, such as the 31% increase in gasoline taxes. Others don’t seem all that bad standing alone, but when added up, Virginians will be paying a lot more in taxes.

Thanks to the Thomas Jefferson Institute for Public Policy for putting together this brochure listing all of the new taxes.

This is life in Blue Virginia. The choice is ours. We can make some changes in the General Assembly next year and vote out tax-loving law makers such as Delegates Ayala, Carter, Guzman, Carroll-Foy, and Roem – all of whom eagerly supported these tax increases.
