PWC Board of Supervisors Consider Tax Hikes

Message from Supervisor Jeanine Lawson:

The Board of County Supervisors will hold the first of two public hearings tomorrow (March 21st) on the FY 2024 Budget proposal.

Once again, the Board majority is aiming to dramatically increase spending while pretending that a lower tax rate is the same as lower taxes for residents. That’s pure spin, and PWC residents are smart enough to see through this charade. Assessments have continued to climb (ranging from 5-10% higher depending on zip code), so although the tax rate may be lower at .977, your average tax bill goes UP again. Matter of fact, under the current proposed rate, the average PWC family will pay $2,200 more since this majority took office in January 2020!

For years, I have focused on relieving the burden for taxpayers in PWC. These are tough times, and residents deserve a tax break after years of increases. Join me and let the Board know your thoughts on this year’s budget.
